This single follows Oppidan’s recent collab with Frisco, plus shows at Glastonbury, Parklife, and Amnesia in Ibiza, ahead of a run of shows in Chicago and New York
Rising UKG talent Oppidan returns with a sweet new NUKG single, ‘WHERE’S MY VAPE?’, out on 23rd August via Promised Land Records.
‘WHERE’S MY VAPE?’ fuses UK Garage and house: NUKG 2-step drums converge with a dynamic 4×4 beat, enhanced by gated bass and synth melodies threading through its energetic drums.
The new single follows Oppidan’s huge collab ‘FRESH AND NEW’ with grime icon Frisco in July.
One of UK Garage’s most rapidly ascending stars, Oppidan has made a major impact with her distinctive productions. Just four years into the game, the Bristol-based producer was nominated for ‘Breakthrough Producer’ at 2023’s DJ Mag Awards, and has received global radio support from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Rinse and Triple J, and New Zealand-based George FM.
Oppidan has landed on AC Slater’s Night Bass, 24 Garage Girls and Conducta’saward-winning Kiwi Rekords. Some of her notable hits include ‘Mr. Sandman’, a fun, choppy, rave-shaking edit of The Chordette’s vintage 1958 classic. This, after premiering live at Glastonbury and Boomtown in 2023, instantly created a real buzz, appearing on The Streets’ Fabric Presents mix in July, and now sitting at over 3M streams. Oppidan also previously graced UKF with her slamming UKG track, ‘Armed & Dangerous’ ft. Cutty Ranks in March, has remixed Sammy Virji’s hit ‘Shapes’, and has worked with the likes of camoufly, SHIMA, Hans Glader, and Dread MC.
Having completed her ‘Armed & Dangerous’ UK tour earlier this year, as well as a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand, Oppidan is deep in a stacked schedule of summer shows. She’s played Glastonbury, Outlook and Parklife so far and is set to play Boomtown and support Chase & Status at Milton Keynes Bowl in August.
She’ll also play twice at the legendary Ibiza club, Amnesia, and will jet off to the US to play in New York, and two shows in Chicago, including one at the city’s historical Smart Bar. To top this off, Oppidan has just been announced as part of the lineup for the huge Nia Archives-curated Up Ya Archives event at Manchester’s Warehouse Project in November, alongside Goldie, Sherelle, Interplanetary Criminal and more.
This fiery new single from Oppidan comes just as the Bristol-based producer/DJ is affirming herself as one of the most exciting names in modern UKG. Keep your eyes peeled for more of Oppidan’s distinct UKG flavours.
