‘I love a good classic now and then and being active in the Dance scene for over 2 decades, really made it hard for me to choose just 10 tracks, as there are so many good tracks from every era, and so many songs that are connected with beautiful memories. I finally came down to 10 tracks, that really have a special place in my heart, and that I feel strongly connected with, for different reasons.’ – Tom Tainted
Gat Decor – Passion (Do You Want It Right Now)
I like good basslines, I like piano House, I like a decent vocal and that version of this iconic track has it all.
Quivver – Twist & Shout
I once had a tape with a Tod Terry mix on it, which was recorded from a local Dance radio show, and there was this track on it which was mind blowing, and at the time I couldn’t find it in the local record shops. Many years later, I bought it on a CD from a friend, who sold his record collection.
Liquid – Sweet Harmony
This kind of sound got me into Dance music, when I was a kid. I was blown away by the energy of the Breakbeat and Rave sound, that was around at that time.
Chicane feat. Bryan Adams “Don’t Give Up”
I love Chicane and this track in particular. I played this a lot at a lounge in Heidelberg, where I was a Resident DJ. It was the perfect vibe for the venue.
Paul van Dyk – For An Angel
The first time I saw Paul play was in a local club, in the late 90s. I probably went to more PvD shows, than any other DJ as we were regularly visiting friends in Berlin, going to the monthly vandit nights back in the day, including Paul’s 30th Birthday with Dave Seaman, as the guest DJ. I met him a few times, and he is a nice guy. And I’m really grateful that he supported one of my track, on his Vonyc sessions show.
Armin van Buuren – Shivers
ASOTs most iconic track with the amazing vocals from Susana. I did a bootleg of this, which I sometimes play in my sets. Susana has also been a great mentor and support in my career so far.
Motorcycle – As The Rush Comes
I’m a big fan of the Gabriel and Dresden sound in general, and I love this classic.
Tinlicker x Robert Miles – Children
The Tinlicker sound got me through the pandemic and back into music. Their version of Robert Miles Children is an absolute milestone, in recent dance music history.
Three Drives On A Vinyl – Greece 2000
Ask my best friend DJ Paize, which is the track that I played most over the years — he will probably say ‘Greece 2000’ …in dozens of remixes.
Faithless – Insomnia
I think this track stands for itself. This is one that always works on the dancefloor. If you don’t know what to play, play any version of ‘Insomnia’. I once had the honour to meet Maxi Jazz at a Red Bull event. It’s so sad, he’s not around anymore.
