Saturdays at XOYO London remain a premium fixture in the capital’s clubbing calendar, owing to an eclectic and ever-expanding schedule of events catering to the city’s renowned diverse nightlife culture. The next in an immersive spate of head-turning events, a familiar face takes the helm on Saturday, 31st August as XOYO mainstay, Charlie Boon + Friends step up for ‘Departures’, a night promising a vivid mix of classic house and cutting-edge electronic sounds. Coming in collaboration with leading UK promoters LWE, COGO and Weird Science, this is one crucial rave to round off the summer. For tickets and more information, visit www.xoyo.co.uk.
Charlie Boon, raised above his father’s nightclub in St Ives, Cornwall, seemed destined for a life in music. Now based in Camberwell, London, his dynamic DJ sets and highly regarded tracks have earned him a growing fanbase and the support of industry heavyweights like Skream, TSHA, and Eliza Rose. Boon’s music has been heavily featured on BBC Radio 1, with over 100 plays and appearances on Sarah Story and Danny Howard’s shows. He has performed at major events like Glastonbury, Boardmasters, and XOYO’s Pleasurehood. At the same time, his own club night and label, Dad Bod Boogie, has sold out venues across London, Bristol, and Cornwall.
The first outing of Charlie Boon’s ‘Departures’ at XOYO comes with an expectedly alluring and versatile lineup of household names and in-demand talents. From Zimbabwe to Leeds, Junior Simba is making moves as one of the leading lights in the new wave of house and dance fusionists; he joins rapidly-rising Southern Fried Records regular Meg Ward for an exclusive b2b. The lineup also comprises London-based producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist Kiimi, and frequent Charlie Boon collaborator and fellow Londoner, Remedy Club.
Charlie Boon’s ‘Departures’ will bring the unforgettable series of ‘Summer Saturday’s’ at XOYO to a close. It follows standout events this August with Chicago house legend Jamie 3:26, Ceri and Friends, the iconic Metalheadz: Blue Note Sessions, and Joshua James’ deep house and minimal techno showcase, ‘Pump.’
With this, XOYO continues to solidify its status as one of the country’s leading pioneers of forward-thinking and inclusive club culture. It delivers unparalleled events and unforgettable dancefloor experiences, effortlessly upholding one of the world’s most vibrant and diverse nightlife scenes.
